That's right... situated right in the heart of Miracle Mile in
Los Angeles, it's the most AMAZING place for children! It's
not just a place for adults, it's an incredible experience for every
aged child.
Tired of the Aquarium, well we were and are so happy that we found
the Petersen Automotive Museum!
They have an entire floor dedicated for children fun and games!
The first Saturday of
every month is a DISCOVERY DAY for children at the Pete! Meet us at
the May Family Discovery Center at 2 pm for our monthly story time
and arts & crafts activities. The Discovery Day Program is free for
Museum members and included in general museum admission for
nonmembers. Seats are limited, so please call us at 323-964-6373 to
save your spot!
What
Happens on a Discovery Day?
Saturday Car
Tales: 2 pm – 2:30 pm
Discovery Day starts with Saturday Car Tales. Come and listen to fun
stories told by our friendly neighbors! They will read stories about
their unique occupations and the cars they drive on duty. Guest
readers include firefighters, highway patrol officers, medical
doctors, mail carriers, paramedics, airplane pilots and other
friendly neighbors.
Saturday Car Tales is
designed to foster among children an appreciation of our communities
and people who make a difference in our neighborhood through their
vocations
Drop-in Arts &
Crafts: 2:30 pm – 4 pm
Make a souvenir to take home! Every month we are making a special
arts & crafts project. Clay hood ornaments, Land Speed key chains,
automobile mugs, popup CARds, and many more!
Projects are designed
to foster creativity in children, as well as social, cognitive,
intellectual, and perceptual motor-building and problem-solving
skills.
You can even host a
birthday party there... what a FABULOUS event that everyone will
remember!
