Taco Tuesdays
So now you've heard of
Pizza Wednesdays... how
about trying out Taco Tuesdays!
That's right, Taco Tuesday
is also a tradition that can be passed on from generation to generation.
Every Tuesday night, our
mother got out the taco shells and we want
to share the tradition with you!
Of course, back then, you
couldn't buy already grated cheese or already grated lettuce, but isn't
this a great world we live in?
Here's the recipe (and we
always welcome variations):
1 pound lean ground beef,
chicken or turkey
1/2 package Lawry's Taco
1 cup water
Seasoning
12 taco
shells or soft 6-inch-diameter corn tortillas
1/2
head iceburg lettuce, shredded
4 fresh tomatoes, chopped
1 package grated cheese
1 bottle La Victoria hot sauce
1 container fresh salsa
Add meat in heavy large
skillet over medium-high heat and cook until brown, about 10
minutes. Spoon any noticeable fat from pan. Add Lawry's
seasoning and follow directions to add one cup of water
Simmer 10-15 minutes.
Spoon
1/4
cup filling into each taco shell or spoon
1/4 cup filling onto each tortilla and add
lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and salsa.
Eat and enjoy!! |
